Gretchen & Chris

A few months ago I got to work with an amazing group of vendors and our daughter Gretchen to design, style and execute her wedding!

As we searched for venues we came across Garden Grove, a venue located in the Texas Hill Country, near Buda. We knew right away that it was going to be the perfect fit! From its scrolling iron gate, to a cocktail hour by the pool, it was the epitome of timelessness.

As the wedding day approached we heard that rain was in the forecast, and although the weather man did not directly use the word monsoon, we think that better describes what went on that day. That morning we realized that we would have to fit all of the wedding festivities under a tent. This did not scare the team of amazing vendors we had hired! They worked tirelessly to execute the many detailed facets of the wedding and as you can see they did a wonderful job!

The color palette was primarily neutral whites with pops of gradient blues. The floral, designed by two of my favorite florists, The Flower Girl & Kismet Flowers, consisted of abundant sprays of greenery with pops of cream and blush. Everywhere you looked, a gorgeous, blooming piece could be seen!

The guests entered through an archway of layered ferns, palms and were greeted by a rustic table fitted with lavender to toss, and tissues for happy tears during the ceremony. The ceremony was intimate, romantic and went off without a hitch! Gretchen & Chris looked as stunning as ever, framed by a metal arch designed and made by her dad that was adorned with floral.

There were two monochromatic lounges at each end of the tent for guest seating, provided by Bee Lavish Vintage Rental. As a personal touch, we decided to have one of the lounges feature family photos in ornate frames. Throughout the rest of the tent were cocktail tables, farm tables and rounds with crisp white linens. Each guest had a place setting at their seat that included a plate, vintage goblet, menu and napkin. Atop the napkin was a butcher paper wrapped baguette with a personal olive oil decanter with rosemary and Italian spices for dipping.

After the guests finished a grilled chicken with poblano cream saucepaired with cilantro rice or option of petite steak with fresh chimichurri sauce and poblano mashed potatoes a night of dancing (and drinking) ensued! Our daughter was so happy, and so were we. This wedding will always be near and dear to my heart.
