Kelly & Kyle
This couple returned to Texas from Denver, CO and were super cool and edgy. I suggested Jeff Gilmer for photography as a perfect fit - Jeff had worked previously as a photographer for "Thrasher" magazine a skateboarding icon. They were thrilled since Kyle had been a boarder himself.
The cow skull adorned with "bling" was a treasured favorite of Kelly's from their home as were the cowhides used on the floor. They wanted a cool vibe for the lounge but Kelly was also a fan of vintage furniture, thus the mix of styles.
Their wedding party was an eclectic mix of folks - siblings, cousins and close long time friends - all full of personality and characters to say the least. Kyle's brother Justin was Best Man, Kelly's sister was the Maid of Honor. Friends Randy and Emma played the ceremony music as Kelly and Kyle walked down the aisle.
The pavilion was built specifically for the wedding. Kyle and the ranch crew built it from the ground up. On a site visit 3 months out, I found Kyle was hanging in the air on scaffold welding the structure together. He worked tirelessly along with Dana Farmer's (SMOB) brother and several ranch hands to complete the pavilion just days before the event.
Occurring during the craziest rainy week of October this year, the ceremony originally planned creekside in "the park" area where family held many events was moved inside the pavilion. Organic drapery was added for warmth which made the space intimate and inviting. Filled with candlelight and a full length greenery wall - it was a romantic spot to spend the evening .
Once the event ended the party shifted to the main house with close friends and family including photographer Jeff Gilmer and his crew which lasted into the early morning. Whew! What a party.
